Poor poor Sony.
10 years ago they where at the top of their game. Lets look back:
PS 1 - cutting edge gaming
Trinitron - The bar for TV standards
XBR - Raising that same bar
XBR2 - Brought television to a new tech level
Satelite recievers - Stand alone boxes with preformance from Sony
Walkman - Gotta have portable audio device
SVHS - 500 lines on a VCR (vcr currently only can do about 340 lines)
Today, notsomuch:
PS3 - Still vaporware in my opinion. Looks good on paper but even developers are balking at the restrictions, and lets not even start with BluRay
TV - Sony started losing ground with Mitsubishi but with LCD's and Plasmas Samsung is pulling in the numbers and getting better reviews
Satelite Recievers - Not to many Dishes out there. But you'd think they'd jump on the DVR bandwagon!?
Walkman - MiniDisk never caught on, (I love it though) iPod rules them all so Sony is taking the walkman to the cell phone. Might work.
BluRay - It will work, and will be a good idea but I think it's still needs some years. Their rushing to get it out and the disks look like something that was made on the executives laptop at the office!
BluRay has issues
The root kit problem
And now Dell has to recall almost 4 million laptops due to the sony batteries exploding!
Oh what has happened to Sony????
